The National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) has released a report that looks into the government-funded students and courses in 2017. The report shows that in 2017 there were 1.2 million government-funded training enrolments. This is down by 5.9% compared to 2016.

Demographically the majority of the students that did enroll in government-funded training were aged between 15-24 years old and 48.6% of the enrolments were female students.  

Aside from the students, there were also changes in the training providers. The amount of training providers is down 3% to 1,874 training providers compared to 2017.
